I will miss you

It is Sunday night.

And I am recalling back Friday, the last day of many other interns. I was so happy to have dinner with them on that day!

Spicy Tsukemen

I could have dinner with Nozomi, 輩先(Kotaro) and Morimori near Kanayama station. Come to think of it, I couldn’t even take a picture for all of us because I was so absorbed in eating. Very 残念. Everyone concentrated on having Tsukemen😂.

I am also sorry that Yuri and Yokozeki couldn’t join us!

Yuri chan gave it to me😊 so cute!

Yuri remembered that I have said “かわいい!” to the Bread Pouch, and she gave it to me as a present. How sweet she is🥰

I wish we could spend more time together! Even though their internship in grit! is over, I hope we can hang out when we have time. I also wish I could be a friend who can ask “how are you??”sometimes.

I am so happy that they start their new career. It definitely would be not easy, but I believe they can get through well all of it.

Good luck, Everybody!

Hokkaido food heaven

Yesterday, I went to Takashimaya to look around special events. The Hokkaido event was hold on the 10th floor of Takashimaya. I went there with Aoi who recommended it to me.

But we had work to do before going there.

Komeda’s coffee

In the Komeda’s coffee shop, we wrote brainstorming and made to-do-list in my left period in Japan. Because Aoi helped me a lot, I could think about the plans with more details and I was satisfied with the ideas we made. Thank you for the support 🙂

Finishing the brainstorming, we headed to Takashiyama to watch and try special products in Hokkaido.

….And there were more people than I could imagine. There were long lines everywhere and I couldn’t even walk well because of the crowd. Still, I enjoyed a lot watching and smelling the all kinds of food there. There were fish, Ramen, sushi, meat, chocolates, Ice-cream, cheese, and even corn & pumpkin soup. All kinds of food famous in Hokkaido gathered! So exciting!

I looooove fish!
Apple pie! look so yummy
It is pudding & cake. The ballon package makes it unique.
we tried cheese!

Besides cheese, we could try ramen, meat, salmon and soup! I am sorry that I couldn’t try the soft ice-cream because of the long waiting line. Everything made me so happy and I wished I could buy all of them. But I just cried with my empty wallet…

I bought one product, cheese omelet. I wanted to buy at least one thing in commemoration of this event and Aoi recommended it to me! I didn’t eat yet and it is in the refrigerator in home. I will say how was it after eating it~

Even if I haven’t go to Hokkaido in real yet, this event comforts me^-^

Mid term reporting

Hello Everyone!

You may not have noticed but on last Friday I left grit! early. It was about 14:00. I went Kanayama for the mid-term reporting with AIESEC members.

For this day, I made PPT

I was a little bit nervous before the presentation, so I bought Sakura flavor milk in the convenience store.

Sakura flavor milk from Starbucks

I drunk it before the statement to get the energy. Good luck to me!

Unlike I worried, every AIESEC member made me comfortable so I could start presentation in good mood.

I talked about myself, cultural difference between Korea & Japan and what I did in past three months. I also said mentioned briefly what I want to do on the left days. Everyone listened carefully what I said and I really appreciated it.

I thought my presentation is the only thing I would do, but there were some other activity. Surprisingly, everyone in the room came up with ideas to make scenario selling Takoyaki. It was really out of my expectation!

Everyone tried to make the scenario as if it is their own work. ^-^

In the past I had told Aoi, my TN manager, that I don’t know how to work on the commercial movie and it is difficult to do it on my own. Then every AIESEC member put effort to help me doing the mission. I was very moved! Thanks for all !! 🙂

Thank you for your efforts!!

After the seminar, I ate dinner at Kanayama station with some AIESEC members. We all felt hungry after the hard work.

Cha han and spicy tofu

I was sorry that everyone couldn’t have dinner with us. Let’s eat together next time~

I realized during the presentation that the time is flying faster than any other moment in my life, and should work and enjoy with every good people I met in Japan.

残りの期間もよろしくお願いします。 ありがとう!

ramen day

Today is Monday and it is supposed to cheer up and put some effort, but unfortunately I don’t feel well today. I kept coughing and my voice became a little bit strange. But I don’t think it is cold because I don’t have any fever and nothings wrong except throat.

My soar throat make me to want to eat Ramen.. because of warm つゆ in there.

As I say think about Ramen, I recall the day of the Ramen festival. It was two weeks ago, but I can not forget the nice Ramen there! It was at the Sakae, and luckily the day I visited was the last day of the event.

Bought ticket to eat Ramen!
Even though it was cold weather,
a lot of people were waiting for the Ramen

I don’t know well, but I chose Ramen that said to win a competition. And it was not so different from what I expected. It was really nice Ramen!

Looks Yummy!
My friend and I left nothing..

This reminiscence make me more hungry, and increase eager for Ramen. I should eat Ramen tonight!

なばなの里

I often go to Nagoya station, and always impressed by the beautiful illumanations.

Illumination around Nagoya station

On last Sunday, my best friend came from Korea then we went to more special place to see illumination, Nabananosato. We went to Nabananosato soon after having lunch, and waited until it becomes dark in Onsen.

It was incredibly wonderful Onsen

Five different types of Onsen made us happy!! We seriously doesn’t want to go outside the Onsen, so we almost miss the Illumination.

When we went outside, beautiful illumination spread beyond my eyes.

And this was the highlight of the illumination! The motive of the illumination was mountain Fuji.

The Illumination was a movie! I thought it might be
traditional story of Japan, but I am not sure.

Even the illumination was beautiful, my body was getting frozen. I am used to the weather of Nagoya so it was extremely cold! But my friend said Nagoya is very warm…^^. I really missed the Onsen.

So.. my point is, it is a little bit strange but,

イルミネーションも良かったけど私はなばなの里の中の温泉がもっと良かったです.もし機会があればぜひ行ってみてください~

Delightful Saturday

Did you have a good weekend off? Well, I did!

On the Saturday I spent time with ごとうsan and みずさこsan. It was kind of unique combination. Isn’t it?

みずさこ san promised to buy sushi, so we headed to a sushi restaurant near Nagoya station. When we arrived there, it was not opened yet and we had to wait more longer. But the waiting was worth it because the reward was…

sushi ^O^/ Yeah!! I LOVE SUSHI

The taste was beyond my expectation, and I ate every sushi served. Especially the crab(?) sushi and salmon sushi were the best out of them.

After eating sushi we also went to the Starbucks that I love. I have to refrain from going there, but my steps were automatically headed to Starbucks. The Starbucks was at Valentine’s event, and there were special Frappuccinos. If you order them, you can choose what to add on the Frappuccinos among three flavors, coffee, romantic and chocolate.

I ordered romantic, ごとうsan ordered chocolate and みずさこsan ordered coffee. Unintentionally, all different valentine menus gathered!

Three different kinds of Valentine day’s Frappuccino!
Funny thing is, I also went to Starbucks on Sunday. (In Sakae)

After having coffee in the Starbucks, みずさこsan went back to home, but women’s time was not over!!

As I found out, ごとうsan was a huge shopping-lover like me. We headed to a big AEON mall. It was very kind of her to drive her car to the mall. Thank you very much ごとうsan!

AEON MALL in Nishichaya
In the middle of shopping, we had food in the McDonald’s

Oh! and we also found VERY VERY familiar clothes in a shop!

Hello えさか san..??!! and まなみ san ??!!

I was very excited to see many goods there! We walked over and over in the mall. My legs became tired a little bit, nevertheless I enjoyed a lot.

In the end, luckily both of us bought something!

ごとうsan drove me home as well as to the mall. Thanks to her, I was able to get home safely. I was so impressed by her kindness. Thank you again 🙂

I am always open-minded to the shopping. I like try a new clothes and feel happy when the unexpected style goes with me. So when you want to shopping, please call me anytime~.

A village like a fairy tale, Shirakawago

Snows always makes me excited. It fresh up my mind and makes me feel innocent 🙂

Even though Korea is very cold, I can not see much snow in Seoul. So when I got to Shirakawago I was touched by the breathtaking view of the mountain covered with snow. It was the first time I saw the snow that much!

The weather was cloudy at first but it got better and better!

There were a lot of cute wooden houses and it was like a scene in a fairy tale. The whole village was amazingly cute!

Me and my friend were so excited and we took pictures everywhere.

But the thing is, it was freezingly cold as much as it is beautiful. Our hands and feet were frozen….
We decided to go to a warm restaurant in order to continue our lives.

I ate beef curry looking outside the window

The food was not enough, so we also went to a cafe.

cozy cafe
Coffee is life-giving water to me…

After having a coffee in the cafe, we headed to observatory where we can watch the whole town on the high place. The walking street to observatory was closed in winter because of the huge amount of snow. We took the bus.

Before taking the bus, I ate beef croquette

And scenery on the observatory! The houses looked like miniature.

small and adorable village
Welcome to Shirakawago~

Even though it is super cold, Shirakawago in winter was very attractive. I would never forget the massive snows and beautiful view! And thanks to my friend who took nice pictures for me!

Village of 君の名は, Hida Furukawa

Hello~ みんな お久しぶりです。
I wasn’t in Grit! from last Tuesday to Friday, so some of you might wonder where I am.

One of my best friends in Korea came to Nagoya and we decided to travel Takayama together. I lost money, and gain weight. But I would definitely say, it was worth it.

My friend was coming to Nagoya on Monday night, so I went Nagoya station after the work in Grit!. And it was on Tuesday that we start journey to Takayama.

Schedule!

Can you guess a first thing we did in Takayama?

It was best sushi I have ever had!

飛騨牛sushi melted in my mouth and it made me happy immediately. We promised to eat 飛騨牛sushi again later, and we actually ate again ^^

Both of us are huge fan of “君の名は” and it made us to go to Hida Furukawa, the background of the movie.

When we arrived at Hida Furukawa, 飛騨牛cow welcomed us at the station!

飛騨牛 in 君の名は
飛騨牛 in the station

In lunch time we headed to a restaurant where also showed up in the movie.

五平餅 in the movie
We ate 五平餅 like them
we also ordered Ramen.
Notes that a lot of visitors wrote.
I left the note on the guest book!

Next destination was Sakura物産館 , where you can experience thread craft like Mitsuha did in the movie. I didn’t make it but I bought red bracelet as souvenir in the shop. It was so expensive…

Can you see the thread hanging on the wood?
My friend asked whether it is real くちかみざけ,
and it was not..

Walking along the street, we found the railway in the movie.

Railway in the movie
Railroad with snow

It looks a little bit different because of the snow but still, it is quite similar.

And the last destination was 氣多若宮神社.

Can you see the similarity?

There were no people in the shrine. It was very quiet and peaceful. Just walking along the street was a great pleasure to me.

In the 氣多若宮神社
going back to the station.

As a huge fan of 君の名は, visiting Hida Furukawa was very meaningful and it reminded me of beautiful scene in the movie again.

I hope I can go to other background of 君の名は someday. Maybe Lake Suwa? 🙂

Inuyama castle

On 5th of January, I had a special journey with Shiho san. It was an unexpected travel to me because I just thought about eating lunch together(I am very simple person), but Shiho san wanted to show me various place in Japan. She suggested me to go to Inuyama castle together! It was very 感動.

Package tickets for Inuyama castle

On the way going to the Inuyama castle, I asked “Does Inuyama castle mean Dog-mountain castle?” and she said it is right. Why the name is Dog-mountain castle? I am curious.

Anyway, we arrived at Inuyama station! I worried about the weather because it rained a little in the morning. Luckily the weather cleared up.

Inuyama station 到着 ~
Lively street going to the castle.
There were also a lot of shops drawing my attention.

There is a common saying, “A loaf of bread is better than the song of many birds”. Yes! It means 花より団子. Therefore, Shiho san and I decided to eat before going to the castle.

Always tasty Takoyaki
It’s dango! 花より団子~
甘酒, もちぶた Dog, pork
どうぞ ^^

In front of the castle, we found おみくじ. We drew the first おみくじ in 2019!

どきどき … What’s in it?
大吉~ I was very lucky!
I also get 縁 結び おみくじ

Finally we headed to the Inuyama castle. The castle was made of wood, and it made me calm and peaceful.

After going up the steep stairs, I could see the wonderful views in a high place.

Beautiful!

Watching the beautiful scenery on the Inuyama castle, I imagined how will it be beautiful in the Spring 🙂 It puts on airs of elegance and I really liked it.

Spending time in Inuyama castle, we became hungry again. Going back to the station, we tried other foods we didn’t eat yet.

soy suace おこげ串
Tofu grilled with miso
ほうじちゃ Latte & Matcha Espresso

Inuyama castle was very special place. It was really nice to be able to go there. Thanks to Shiho san helped me going the castle! I really enjoyed a lot ^^

It was a pleasant day for the both eyes and mouth.

Hungry holidays

Happy new year to everyone!

あけましておめでとうございます~

What did you do on your holiday? For me, it was absolutely nice holidays. Especially the food made my breaks more perfect! I really ate a lot……
So, I am gonna talk about the food I have on the new year period. If you read this blog, you might become hungry 🙂

2018 12-31
On the last day of 2018, I had Nabe and 御節料理 for dinner with Yoshida san’s family.

Nabe Rie san cooked was really nice

And this is 御節料理 that Naho cooked. She also made the bird shape!

The appearance is really amazing!
Naho すごい!

After eating dinner, I slept about 2 hours before the midnight. When I woke up, the soba was waiting for me! I ate soba in a sleepy state but it was still delicious!.

Because I ate soba in a sleepy state, I couldn’t take the picture. I googled the picture..very sorry

2019 01-01

On the first day of 2019, I went Osu with ごとう san and ゆうい san. Thanks for joining with me~^^. We were full of anticipation for shopping at first. But what happened?? We were concentrating on eating!!

It is ロオパオ. Everyone ate にくflavor

After eating ロオパオ, everyone said “まだ足りない”. So we headed to Takoyaki shop! There were so many people there, so we waited for a long time.

Takoyaki and Miso Kusikatsu

And next.. I needed dessert! It looks like bread in the picture, but actually it is ice-cream.

In the round shape Monaca
there was Matcha ice-cream!

I was also attracted by the choco-banana, and…….

I ate the blue color choco-banana.

When I am eating the choco-banana, I constantly talked to myself in mind.
‘This is the last one, this is the LAST one……’. But the reality is……

Custard たいやき
Happy with たいやき and にんぎょうやき

Luckily(?), たいやき was the last food in Osu. But we don’t go to home yet! Then where?

…… Italian restaurant at Nagoya station!

I ate salmon pasta.

I felt my body become heavier T.T
I think ご とう san and ゆうい san might feel the same way.

The sad thing is, 2019-01-01 was only a beginning of overeating. Still, I was really happy with the food!
